PURPOSE

Following the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-07) held in Geneva, several African delegates expressed the need for African countries to devote a greater level of effort towards effective planning of spectrum at the national, subregional and African levels.  

In recognition of the above and in pursuance of one of the core activities of Kemilinks Internation, we are pleased to invite you to the Workshop Spectrum Management in Africa:Fundamentals of Spectrum Planning and impact of WRC07 on Africa . This will be organized in 2 parts.

THEME

“Fundamentals of Spectrum Planning and impact of WRC07 on Africa” 

AGENDA

The first part which takes place from 21-23 April 2008 with the theme Fundamentals of Spectrum Planning, will feature a series of presentations on the fundamentals of spectrum planning and the processes required for an efficient management of spectrum.

The second part which takes place from 24-25 April 2008 undertakes a review and assessment of WRC07 and its impact on Africa and ends with identification of specific actions that need to be taken in the continent to encourage efficient utilization of spectrum, improve the deployment of ICT infrastructure in Africa and prepare for WRC11.

FOR WHOM

The workshop is targeted at decision makers, professionals and senior executives engaged in day to day activities on spectrum planning and related matters. Participants are expected from ICT Ministries and Departments, telecom/broadcasting regulators and operators, vendors, as well as other major users of spectrum and industry.

REGISTRATION FEES

The fees for each part of the workshop is US$1,000 per participant.
The fees for a delegate participating in the two parts is US$1,500 per participant.
A discount of 15% is available for three or more delegate registration from the same institution.
